Grandpa Ben's 90th. Birthday.

An unusual design in a rock in Wilder state park. It looks like an ariel image of a road with a dotted line.

  • Derek Bendixen looking up a sand cliff in Uvas Canyon. (There was a neat little Norwegian village on the way to the park called Sveadal with houses made in traditional Norwegian architecture.

Amanda Lee taking pictures in Uvas Canyon where we went for a day trip.

Danielle and brother Derek Bendixen sitting on a fallen Redwood in Uvas Canyon park.

Eleazar taking a vertical picture of a grove of Redwoods in Uvas Canyon county park in Santa Clara while Derek Bendixen walks over a fallen Redwood towards the grove.

Chris, son of a sister of Ben's who lives in Oregon is amazed by all the tropical fruits that Mark Bendixen is able to grow on his city lot. Chris grows grapes for a living and makes wine in Oregon.

Chris is at the top of Ben's property near a dam that he built to water his garden from a small creek. His Grandson Levi, son of Gary, and grandson Derek, son of Mark are standing and sitting on a bent over moss covered tree near the dam.
Ben had two birthday cakes and many cup cakes. The one with the orange decoration on the top was the only gift he requested. It was a chocolate cake from Nothing Bunt Cake of Los Gatos, CA. His Granddaughter, Danielle Bendixen, daughter of Mark is standing behind and to the right.

Ben doesn't know what to think of all his guests. He's blown away. The little girl holding his hand is Maddie. Her mother took care of Ben in the early nineties when his wife Stella Elizabeth passed away. Maddie and her older sister Mariana continue to visit Ben with their parents Lucinda and Philip often. Ben's sister Joanie from Las Vegas is hugging Ben in front of a line of about 15 enlarged photos of Ben made especially for the occasion.

  • Renee of Las Vegas, daughter of Joanie, Ben's sister was sitting on her uncle Ben's deck as she ate pastries from a French bakery in San Jose when a butterfly landed in her hair and hung out for a rest for a while.

  • The rat - dog is Lucy. My Dad's brother's wife, Laura is her owner.

  • Danielle, 17 yr. old granddaughter of Ben lights the candles on the cake.
