What change took place in my life when I put faith in Jesus.

When I was but a five year old blonde haired blue eyed boy you may have thought I was a nice cute kid, but on the inside I was quite different than you may have at first thought. On the inside I was quite a hellion and in desperate need of God. Now you may have thought at first glance that I was the perfect picture of health, but inside I was a sin sick soul drifting into eternity and knocking on death’s door.

Fortunately for me, I was attending a Christian school where a certain outspoken kindergarten teacher, Bonnie Barger would warn the children in my class at the end of each day of the seriousness of the offence we had caused God by the sins we had committed. Now I don’t have much of a recollection for the particular offenses I had personally committed back in the day, but let me assure you even a cute kid like me had committed more than enough sin to offend a holy God. According to my Mom’s recollection I was a fearful child at that time. A couple of fears I can remember are when I feared shadows in my bedroom at night. I thought I saw monsters coming out of my closet. I also remember fearing a cute little print with cartoon like lions on my bed sheets when I was but a toddler. Fear in itself is certainly an offence to God. Revelation 21:8 says: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. If you didn’t get it, from this we see that God is greatly offended by fearful and unbelieving people.

Since the time that I repented of my sin and asked Jesus to save me and make me his child, I have been courageous. God has given me a courage that I couldn’t have had before. I still have times when I worry and doubt or have fear. But I ask God to forgive me of those times and go on in courage. When I doubt that God really saved me I remember Romans chapter eight and particularly verses 35-39 which state that absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in the Messiah Yahshua our Master. In fact people notice that I have courage and tell me so, which is very apt for my middle given name. On my birth certificate from Wyoming in 1978 my parents placed my middle name as Courage.

If you have not yet repented of your sins against a holy and just God, then by all means, wait no longer. Jesus said it would be better to cut of your hand, or pluck out your eye than to go to hell with both hands and both eyes. He also said to repent and believe the gospel. Blood had to be shed for your sins. Jesus was that spotless lamb that could only wash away your sins. Fall upon Jesus and forsake your sins today. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
